Breathe in pure oxygen in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber and feel your body revitalise. The inhalation of 100% oxygen in a pressurised chamber ensures significantly increased levels of oxygen to your body’s tissues. This can accelerate healing, improve cognition, enhance energy levels, reduce inflammation, diminish stress responses, and strengthen your immune system. Our two chambers allow you to enjoy this rejuvenating experience alongside a partner. Oxygen is healing – oxygen is life!
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a safe, non-invasive treatment that involves breathing 70-100% medical-grade oxygen in a pressurised chamber. The specific pressure applied, the amount of oxygen inhaled and the duration of the session are determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the individual’s disease and treatment goals. HBOT has a long history of use, with over 200 years of proven efficacy in treating over 150 health conditions. As oxygen is the most essential nutrient for every cell in the body, the significantly increased tissue oxygen level contributes to recovery and healing. However, HBOT is not limited to oxygen and pressure. Over time, it also acts as an epigenetic modulator of over 8,000 genes and as a stem cell booster. As a result, it has an ongoing effect on our cell functions even after the end of the therapy.
HBOT works on multiple levels
In normal pressure conditions, it is the haemoglobin in red blood cells that is responsible for transporting oxygen to all tissues in the body. An increase in air pressure results in the dissolution of oxygen directly into the blood plasma, thereby raising tissue oxygen levels by up to 1,200%. This ensures that oxygen is delivered to tissues that are in need of it, including areas affected by injuries, stroke or cancer, as well as numerous other conditions.
Oxygen plays an important role in reducing swelling and inflammation, allowing for improved blood flow to damaged or hypoxic tissues.
By enhancing mitochondrial efficiency, more ATP (the energy currency of every cell) is generated, leading to improved tissue repair and an elevated metabolic rate in cells.
Oxygen has an anti-inflammatory effect, reducing the release of inflammatory substances and constricting leaky blood vessels. This alleviates acute and chronic inflammatory processes.
The surplus oxygen acts as a hormetic stressor, prompting the endogenous production of antioxidants in every cell. This makes tissues more resistant to toxins and enhances healing processes, also in cases where surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy is required.
HBOT prompts stem cell mobilisation, new vessel formation, new collagen synthesis, fibroblast activation, and telomere lengthening, which collectively contribute to overall healing. Furthermore, surplus oxygen assists in the disposal of old and dysfunctional cells (apoptosis) and the clearance of waste material. These processes enable optimal tissue healing and new nerve cell or synapse formation, for example, after traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementias, Parkinson’s and many more.
The reduction of inflammatory cytokines and the opioid-like effect result in a decline in swelling and a subsequent alleviation of pain.
The enrichment of oxygen directly destroys microorganisms, making it an effective natural antibiotic therapy.
HBOT has demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of a diverse range of conditions.
The list of conditions that can be treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is extensive. These include surgery and crush injuries, radiation tissue damage, chronic non-healing wounds, diabetes, chronic infections, compartment syndrome, severe anaemia, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, thermal burns, osteomyelitis, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, neuropathy, Parkinson’s, dementia, multiple sclerosis and many more. Furthermore, it has been shown to be effective in the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome, post-Covid/vaccine syndrome, mental illnesses, autoimmune diseases, low back pain, disc hernia, cancer, during and after radiotherapy, lymphedema, migraine/headaches, osteoporosis, sport injuries, spinal cord injury, for improving athletic performance, for longevity and well-being, and many others.
Is HBOT safe?
Yes, HBOT is generally very safe when administered by trained professionals.
How long does a session last?
Typically 60–90 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies depending on your condition, but most patients see benefits within a few sessions. Special health issues may require 40 or more sessions.
Does insurance cover HBOT?
Some insurance plans cover HBOT for specific conditions. We can help you determine your coverage.
